Who Can Apply For This ZED Schemes?

All MSMEs registered on the UDYAM portal (under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) are eligible to participate in the MSME Sustainable (ZED) Certification program and can avail themselves of the related

benefits and incentives.

  • Promote Quality Manufacturing: Empower MSMEs to produce high-quality products using advanced technology and tools, continually updating processes for optimal productivity and minimal environmental impact.

  • Build a ZED Ecosystem: Foster a competitive environment for MSMEs by developing a robust ZED manufacturing ecosystem, enhancing their export capabilities.

  • Recognize and Reward Success: Encourage the adoption of ZED practices and celebrate the achievements of successful MSMEs.​

  • Incentivize Higher Certification: Motivate MSMEs to attain higher ZED certification levels through tiered incentives.

  • Raise Public Awareness: Increase public demand for Zero Defect and Zero Effect products by promoting the MSME Sustainable (ZED) certification.​

  • Support Policy and Investment: Identify improvement areas to aid the government in making informed policy decisions and prioritizing investments.

Each MSME embarking on the ZED journey must take a "ZED Pledge" before applying for a

ZED Certification Level (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

At this level, MSMEs undergo a desktop review and a two-day onsite assessment by an approved third-party assessment agency to verify their self-assessments. They are evaluated based on the 20 parameters of the ZED scheme.

Gold Level

At this level, MSMEs undergo a desktop review and a one-day onsite assessment by an approved third-party assessment agency to verify their self-assessments. They are evaluated based on the 14 parameters of the ZED scheme.

Silver Level

At this stage, MSMEs go through a desktop assessment of their processes and operations, evaluated based on five parameters of the ZED scheme.

Bronze Level
